Liverpool’s interest in Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller seems to be ramping up as the summer transfer window approaches with the Reds reportedly mulling over making a bid.

Back in February 2025, a report from Caught Offside revealed that Liverpool were looking at signing Stiller as an alternative to Frenkie de Jong, whose wages are far outside the realm of what FSG would sanction.

In the last few days, Spanish news outlet Fichajes claimed Liverpool are preparing a massive offer” to Stuttgart in the region of €60million (£52m). Allegedly, Arne Slot made a personal request to the Liverpool board for him to join the club.

Now, new reports are emerging from Germany, suggesting Liverpool’s reported bid would be difficult to refuse.

A bid of €60m would have “Stuttgart thinking twice” as Liverpool show serious interest in Stiller

According to German news outlet Stuttgarter Nachrichten, Liverpool are “now showing strong interest in VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller and a transfer fee of €60 million could have Stuttgart thinking twice.”

Stiller has become “a major focus” for Liverpool and have “signaled serious interest in signing” the 24-year-old. Not only is Stiller “expected to become a key new element in central midfield” but he would have a familiar face at Anfield in Wataru Endo.

The report adds: “The offer from northern England is likely to be financially significant. The €60 million mark is the threshold beyond which even those in charge in Stuttgart, including CEO Alexander Wehrle and sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth, are likely to start pondering, despite Stiller’s importance for VfB’s game.”

Why are Liverpool happy to spend so much money to sign Stiller?

The simple answer? He’s class.

Despite being a very accomplished and combatative defensive midfielder, Stiller has managed to score four goals and assist another nine in all competitions this season for Stuttgart.

While I doubt Arne Slot really cares if he scores or assists as a No.6, it highlights his ball playing ability. He averages 70 passes per game with an accuracy of 90% which is fantastic.

In terms of winning the ball back, his numbers are very good even if Endo outshines him in that department – of course, Endo is one of the best ball-winners around as he seems to care about little else.

Overall, Stiller has a very balanced profile for a No.6 and would be an intriguing addition to the Liverpool squad.
