Liverpool are reportedly prepared to make a record-breaking move for Bayern Munich star Michael Olise, but the German champions insist he is not for sale.

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has dismissed speculation linking Michael Olise with a move away from the club, amid reports that Liverpool are considering a massive bid for the winger.

Olise has been in outstanding form since joining Bayern from Crystal Palace in 2024, quickly establishing himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most dangerous attacking players.

During his debut season in Germany, he registered 20 goals and 23 assists as Bayern reclaimed the league title.

His influence has continued into the current campaign. The France international has scored 16 goals and provided 27 assists across 38 appearances in all competitions, helping Bayern move closer to another Bundesliga crown while also emerging as one of the favourites for Champions League success.

Unsurprisingly, his performances have sparked interest from across Europe. With Mohamed Salah confirming he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, Olise has been widely mentioned as a potential replacement for the departing forward.

Salah announced his imminent exit with this statement: “To the fans…I don’t have enough words. The support you showed me through the best time of my career, and you stood by me in the toughest times. It’s something I will never forget, and something I will take with me always. Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will be always one of you. This club will always be my home, to me and to my family.

“Another big problem for Slot is he keeps making excuses. Sometimes you need to hold your hands up and say, look, we were second best on the day and we’re going to do out best to improve. Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”

Reports from German outlet BILD claim Liverpool would be willing to offer as much as €200 million to secure Olise’s services. Real Madrid have also been credited with interest, with suggestions they could table a bid worth around €165 million.

However, Bayern officials have made it clear they have no intention of entertaining offers.

“We’re not even thinking about that,” Eberl told BILD. “He’s an FC Bayern player and has all the opportunities here that top players could wish for. Michael has a contract with us until 2029, without a release clause. We’re relaxed.”

Olise remains tied to Bayern on a long-term deal until 2029, and club chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen echoed the same message when addressing speculation surrounding the winger’s future.

“No matter which club tries to lure him away, anyone who plays for FC Bayern knows what they have at FC Bayern,” Dreesen said.

What next for Liverpool after bombshell Salah announcement?

Liverpool, meanwhile, are preparing for a major rebuild this summer following the decision to allow Salah to leave on a free transfer.

His departure will ease the club’s wage bill by an estimated £20 million, but replacing his output remains a significant challenge.

Alongside finding a successor on the right flank, the Reds are also expected to strengthen in several other areas, including left-wing, central midfield, right-back and left-back.

The reported €200 million price tag attached to Olise would represent a major financial commitment.

Such a deal would likely surpass the British transfer record for a second consecutive year, following Liverpool’s £125 million move for Alexander Isak from Newcastle United in August 2025.

Olise is not the only wide attacker linked with a potential switch to Anfield. RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has also been mentioned as an alternative option as Liverpool assess their attacking targets ahead of a crucial summer window.
