Liverpool have reportedly set a price tag of between £40m and £50m for Harvey Elliott as speculation intensifies over the 22-year-old’s future at Anfield.

Elliott remains a fan favourite among Reds supporters, admired for his technical flair, tireless work ethic, and unwavering commitment to the badge.

But as Arne Slot’s project takes shape, the versatile midfielder could become one of the more high-profile casualties of the summer reshuffle.

Liverpool open to offers for Elliott this summer

Having made his debut at just 16 years old in 2019, Elliott has been developed carefully over six years at Liverpool, growing into a reliable contributor.

Despite being neither a true winger nor a traditional attacking midfielder, Elliott’s hybrid qualities have brought flashes of brilliance – including four goals and two assists in just 650 minutes of action this season.

That’s a goal involvement roughly every 108 minutes, a highly respectable return for a player who has struggled for consistent starts.

Yet, Slot appears uncertain about where Elliott best fits into his tactical blueprint. With the youngster averaging just 29 minutes per appearance across 22 games this campaign, it’s clear the Dutchman has yet to fully commit to carving out a regular role for him.

Newcastle lead the chase – could it lead to a deal to sign Isak?

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are open to a sale this summer – but only if a club meets their valuation. The Reds reportedly see long-term potential in Elliott, but they will not stand in his way if a compelling offer arrives.

Newcastle United are the most prominent suitors, and there’s growing belief the Magpies may test Liverpool’s resolve.

A potential move could also play into ongoing transfer discussions between the two clubs, particularly as Liverpool continue to pursue Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Should Newcastle firm up their interest, the opportunity could appeal to Elliott. A move to St. James’ Park would offer him regular Premier League football in a side looking to challenge the top four.

Elliott has a point to prove after a season of bench-warming

Despite the rumours, Elliott has never shown any desire to leave Anfield.

He’s spoken repeatedly about his ambition to succeed at Liverpool and has bounced back admirably from injury setbacks with a point to prove.

Slot may still find a place for him in the long-term.

But as Liverpool prepare for a busy summer window, with multiple incomings and outgoings on the cards, Elliott’s future could hinge on whether the club receives the kind of offer they simply can’t refuse.
