Liverpool are set to sell Curtis Jones on the cheap this summer amid interest from Inter Milan.
It’s a decision that the club could come to regret, given his technical quality and passion. The Scouser has started just 18 Premier League games in 2025-26 despite Liverpool’s struggles in midfield, with a summer exit now very likely.
Missing out on the England squad for the 2026 World Cup will likely also play a part in his long-term thinking. Jones is certainly good enough to play for his national team even if it’s understandable that he simply didn’t play enough to work his way into Thomas Tuchel’s thinking for this summer’s tournament in North America.
Liverpool willing to let Curtis Jones leave for just £35m
Last summer, Liverpool set a £40m asking price for Harvey Elliott which makes it quite interesting to see them set a lower fee for interested clubs in Jones.
According to The Times, Liverpool will let Jones leave for around £35m as they look to expedite his summer departure. Whoever signs him – in the Premier League or abroad – will be getting a fantastic bargain.
Paul Joyce reports: “When Jones was the young kid who joined Liverpool at under-nine level, any goal in front of the Kop would have been a dream. Here, he could not even find it within himself to celebrate in the 58th minute or even raise a smile. He is coveted by Inter Milan and is valued at £35million.”

Blessed with close control, vision and a high work ethic, Jones is a fantastic midfielder. Inter Milan has been heavily linked with him, and after seeing Scott McTominay thrive in Italy, Jones might be tempted to make the switch to Serie A.
Not only would the 25-year-old thrive in Italy, it would also give him the perfect platform to prove his worth before a potential return to the Premier League in a few years.
I think there is the potential for Liverpool to regret letting him go this summer – particularly for just £35m. It’s worth noting that Jones is out of contract at the end of next season, so perhaps Liverpool believe it’s better to sell him this summer rather than let him leave for free next summer.
