Liverpool are reportedly making another move to sign Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr despite previously being rejected by the Eagles.
The Senegalese forward has haunted the Reds on multiple occasions, and much like Sir Alex Ferguson did with Manchester United in the 90s and 2000s, Liverpool are trying to sign a player who frequently hurt them in the Premier League.
Sarr scored 21 goals for Palace last season, with his finishing and experience seen as valuable to Liverpool.
Despite suggestions today that Liverpool are not going to make another move for Sarr, it seems one is on its way.
David Lynch told Anfield Index that the Merseysiders are unlikely to sign Sarr. He said: “Based on what I’m hearing, I probably don’t expect it to be Ismaila Sarr at the moment [the second winger Liverpool may bring in]. The way the Sarr situation was put to me was that it was kind of an enquiry that got knocked back, if it was rebuffed at £50m, there is no way they’re gonna go back in for him.”
Now, however, journalist Sacha Tavolieri contradicts this claim with a new report on X, saying that Liverpool are set to submit a new bid to Palace in an attempt to sign the 28-year-old before Deadline Day.
Tavolieri says: “Liverpool are making another push for Ismaïla Sarr!
“The Reds are preparing to submit a new proposal to Crystal Palace for the Senegalese winger.
“Al Ittihad are closely monitoring the situation and could take advantage of the opening if the deal falls through.”

Liverpool must feel confident in their right-wing options as it stands
As things stand, Liverpool have Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz as their right-wing options for the season ahead.
Ngumoha struggled against Newcastle United last weekend, while Munoz changed the game with his pace and powerful running, winning the penalty which Dominik Szoboszlai scored in the 98th minute to hand the Reds an all-important point.
Sarr, however, is more of a striker than he is a winger. The Senegal star struggles on the right wing where his close control and finishing – but lack of pace – are less useful.
The Palace striker would be good cover for Isak, though, with Liverpool needing to be careful of overplaying the Swede after last season’s injury issues.
