Liverpool signing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze is realistic if not necessarily a concrete target right now.
The Englishman has been linked with a move to Anfield ever since he debuted in the Premier League in 2020 at the age of 22. Knowing Liverpool and FSG, he has likely been on the radar a long time.
But like other big Premier League outfits, the links aren’t always indicative of concrete interest.
Yet, if there is to be a big team signing Eze this summer, it’s likely to be Liverpool.
Luis Diaz is potentially on the way out this summer with the Colombian not happy with his current contract.
Arsenal finished transfer business for the summer and no longer in the race for Eze

With Arsenal signing Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke, it appears as though the Gunners are done making signings which leaves the door open for Liverpool to sign Eze or Rodrygo.
According to Arsenal source Inside the Cannon, the North London side is not expected to make any more signings this summer. In addition to the big three signings, Mikel Arteta has already signed Kepa and Christian Norgaard.
Only one other signing.
Inside the Cannon claims: “It is our understanding that the club want to swiftly conclude deals for Gyokeres & Madueke to begin their pre-season. AFC are planning to conclude their window with the acquisition of Mosquera from Valencia with no further business expected, so as to keep the balance sheet healthy.
“During initial reviews, Arsenal were interested in Madueke to be deployed as cover for Saka, but conversations between the player and Arteta have convinced the manager that he is the correct choice for the starting LW (left-wing) position. The player has total trust and confidence in Arteta.”
Eze may be the perfect replacement for Diaz

Luis Diaz is a player that I would rather not see leave Liverpool. Yet, that does seem likely given the club’s unwillingness to renew his deal.
Eze would be a smart replacement given he’s a year younger and is already operating at a very similar level to Diaz – at least in terms of total goal contributions.
Last season, Eze scored 14 goals and assisted 11 while Diaz managed 17 goals and eight assists. Both players provided 25 goal contributions so there wouldn’t be a noticeable drop in output.
He reportedly has a release clause of £60m plus £8m in add-ons which makes this a relatively affordable signing to accomplish.
While he may be older than the profile FSG prefers, signing 22-year-old Wirtz – who should be a superstar for the next decade – may offset that slightly.
