Liverpool are still not done with making new signings even with another big money move for Hugo Ekitike close to completion.
Arne Slot won the Premier League in his first season in England despite only signing Federico Chiesa. This summer, however, the Dutch manager is taking full advantage of the club’s status as Champions to build a squad that will win even more silverware in the years to come.
The additions of Florian Wirtz and Ekitike bring so much extra quality to the Reds’ starting lineup while Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong are sure to make an impact as well.
Yet, it would appear that Liverpool aren’t done yet and plan to bring in more talent.
Liverpool still want another attacker and a centre-back before bringing their transfer activity to a halt
Reporting via Twitter, journalist Ben Jacobs reports that Liverpool are still intent on signing a new centre-back to replace Jarell Quansah and could also sign another attacker in addition to Ekitike.
The French forward will cost the Reds in the region of £82m with a six-year deal in place but if Luis Diaz gets his wish to transfer away from Anfield, he will be replaced by a player of hopefully a similar or greater calibre.
Jacobs reports: “Liverpool set to add another attacker if Luis Diaz is sold, with Bayern expected to make another bid.
“And Liverpool FC still want to add a centre-back between now and the end of the window.

What will Slot make of the extra pressure that this summer’s recruitment is sure to add?
Given Slot is one of the coolest customers in the Premier League, it doesn’t seem likely that it will bother him much.
That said, the pressure will be on the players much more than it will be on Slot – he’s earned a fair measure of good will from supporters.
However, the players Liverpool have signed – Wirtz in particular – are all top class and used to pressure in their own rights.
Liverpool are sure to be one of the most exciting teams in Europe for the season ahead and if anything, these new signings are only likely to increase confidence on Merseyside.
