Liverpool are working on an exciting summer for supporters but new signings will be accompanied by farewells to a number of players.
It is going to very interesting to see what Arne Slot’s squad looks like come the start of the 2025/26 Premier League with a move to sign Jeremie Frimpong nearly done.
The Reds are also working on getting a deal over the line to sign energetic Bournemouth fullback Milos Kerkez.
The two fullback signings, however, will go hand in hand with summer exits for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas, with recent Sky Sports claims suggesting the Greek left-back will be sold to make way for Kerkez.
In goal, Caoimhin Kelleher will be replaced by incoming Valencia star Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez is almost certain to leave the club as well but one attacker whose future is not written in stone is Luis Diaz.
The Colombian has 17 goals and eight assists and is set for contract talks with the club when the season ends but if those don’t go as planned, Liverpool could look to sell the 28-year-old this summer while his value remains high.
With Diaz out of contract in June 2027, this is a crucial period for Liverpool to adjudge what to do with his future.
The latest from Spain on Luis Diaz’s Liverpool future amid massive interest from Barcelona
According to a report from Spanish publication Fichajes, Luis Diaz “has become one of Barcelona’s offensive priorities.
The newly-crowned La Liga champions already have an attacking setup boasting the likes of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, who have a combined 145 goals and assists in all competitions.
It’s unclear exactly where Luis Diaz fits into Hansi Flick’s fluid side but the report goes on to say Liverpool “are not willing to let him go for less than €80million.”
The report continues: “The economic context of the British club and restructuring plans could open a door for his departure if a suitable offer comes through.
“The main obstacle in the operation continues to be the high transfer cost, as Liverpool will not easily yield. Nevertheless, the Catalan club is exploring different ways to make his signing viable and could activate financing mechanisms or include players in the deal.
“It all depends on how the summer progresses, but in Barcelona, they are already dreaming of seeing Luis Díaz showcasing his talent at the Camp Nou.”
