Ryder Cup-winning golfer Ludvig Aberg says he is in favour of Arne Slot remaining at Liverpool, also wishing compatriot Alexander Isak his best.

Some of the pressure on Slot has eased slightly after the Reds drew 0-0 away to Premier League leaders Arsenal on Thursday night, with the champions producing a strong defensive showing at the Emirates.

That’s not to say that big improvements aren’t still required from the Dutchman, however, who continues to battle to save his job at Liverpool.

Speaking to SportBladet [via Sport Witness], world-renowned golfing star Aberg showed his support for Slot, even though he also knows things have to improve:

“I’m team Slot’ I think he did so well last year, so I would never want to complain about him. It’s a results industry and if the results do not hold, questions will be asked.”

Aberg also spoke of his disappointment at Isak’s current injury absence, wishing the striker all the best in his recovery in the coming weeks and months: “Very sad. It felt like he got off to a bit of a start with goals against West Ham and goals against Tottenham away. Sad, but I think he will come back stronger and be really good.”

How safe is Slot in his job at Liverpool?

Liverpool fans will no doubt continue to be split about Slot’s future at the club, following such an underwhelming defence of their Premier League title this season.

The football on show hasn’t been entertaining enough, with too many disappointing results at the same time, and failure to qualify for next year’s Champions League would arguably deserve to lead to his sacking.

That said, Liverpool are now unbeaten in 10 matches, which Slot deserves some credit for, and it’s now a case of building on a solid run and making sure the Reds go up a significant level between now and May.

Football is too knee-jerk in the modern game, so it is nice to see those high up at Anfield not rushing into a decision, but Slot will know more than anything that he is still far from safe in the job.
