Luis Diaz is open to renewing his Liverpool contract despite a number of clubs being interested in signing him this summer.

The Colombian starred in the Reds’ Premier League title win but may still leave the club if he does not sign a new contract with Liverpool but only time will tell how this saga plays out.

Diaz scored 17 goals and grabbed seven assists in all competitions, attracting interest from Barcelona and the Saudi Pro League.

According to French journalist Sebastien Vidal, Saudi outfits Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr both submitted bids to Liverpool for Diaz believed to be in the region of €85m (£72m) but they were rejected immediately.

Meanwhile, Colombian reporter Pipe Sierra claims that neither Liverpool nor Diaz are agitating for a transfer to be completed. Speaking on Kick, Sierra reported that Diaz is open to renewing his Liverpool deal but did admit that Diaz has not ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia.

How much would Liverpool be willing to accept to sell Luis Diaz this summer?

According to talkSPORT journalist Ben Jacobs, Liverpool would be open to selling Luis Diaz to Al-Nassr at the right price but conceded that a deal like this would not be quick to complete.

“Al Nassr want Luis Diaz, he is their top target, they believe €85m [£72m] will be good enough and I do think at that number Liverpool might be tempted to sell,” says Jacobs.

“That is one to watch, not necessarily the 1st of June as Al Nassr are not in the Club World Cup so they don’t need to worry about forcing it through in the next 10 days.”

Should Liverpool sell Diaz?

Absolutely not.

Two months ago I may have agreed but if Liverpool sell Darwin Nunez as expected, Diaz will be needed to provide the versatility, pace and work rate the Colombian provides on the left flank or as a No.9.

If Liverpool sign Florian Wirtz as they are trying very hard to do, Diaz would be a very good partner in crime for the German to interact with in attack.

That said, if selling him for over £72m allows Arne Slot to sign the No.9 that he wants, it may not be the worst idea.
