Manchester United and Liverpool are among several Premier League clubs alerted to the possible availability of Bayern Munich full-back Alphonso Davies.

Manchester United have been sounded out over a potential move for Davies, with Liverpool also understood to be monitoring the situation closely as interest grows across the Premier League.

Sources close to teamTALK indicate that intermediaries have recently approached several top English clubs to gauge interest in the Canada international, holding discussions with United, Liverpool and a number of other elite sides.

Davies’ future has drawn attention despite the fact he only signed a new long-term contract with Bayern in February, extending his stay with the Bundesliga champions until 2030.

The 25-year-old, widely regarded as one of the world’s most explosive attacking full-backs, has recently returned to full fitness after recovering from a serious ACL injury. The injury setback came shortly after he committed his future to Bayern, a decision that also ended speculation linking him with a free transfer move to Real Madrid.

Even so, conversations involving potential suitors have continued behind the scenes, with clubs across Europe informed that a deal could be possible under the right circumstances.

While Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona, along with Paris Saint-Germain, have been made aware of the situation, Premier League clubs appear to be leading the early interest.

Liverpool and Manchester United were among the first sides contacted, with both teams expected to strengthen at left-back during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have also reportedly been informed of the situation, setting the stage for what could become one of the most competitive transfer pursuits of the summer.

Bayern stance remains cautious

Despite growing speculation, Bayern Munich are not actively pushing Davies toward the exit door.

Club insiders suggest Bayern remain comfortable with his current situation, with no firm decision taken regarding a potential sale. However, the defender’s circumstances are believed to be under ongoing review.

Given his long-term contract, age profile and status as one of the leading full-backs in world football, any move would require a substantial transfer fee.

If negotiations were to progress, the Premier League is currently viewed as the most likely destination should Davies eventually leave Germany.

Liverpool and United tracking left-back options

Liverpool are widely expected to strengthen at left-back this summer, particularly with Andy Robertson approaching the end of his current contract and uncertainty surrounding his long-term role.

Manchester United are also exploring options in the same position, with the club seeking additional competition for Luke Shaw. A new arrival could also allow Patrick Dorgu to operate further forward in certain tactical setups.

With several of England’s biggest clubs now aware of Davies’ potential availability, competition for his signature could intensify quickly if Bayern signal a willingness to negotiate.

Should that happen, a fierce bidding battle between Premier League heavyweights may follow, and any club hoping to secure Davies will likely need to commit to a major financial outlay.
