Liverpool completed the signing of Milos Kerkez earlier in the summer transfer window and while attention has shifted due to the excting moves the club is making, the Hungarian is a top addition to Arne Slot’s side.

Despite winning the Premier League title last season at a canter, there are a number of issues that Slot has addressed with his transfer activity so far this summer.

With the signings of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool have made sure there will be even greater fluidity in an attack that already features the best Premier League player in Mohamed Salah.

Yet, the signing of Kerkez has gone under the radar relatively speaking – especially considering the reported interest in signing Alexander Isak to transform this Liverpool side into a super team.

The former Bournemouth star is just what Liverpool need at left-back as both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas have not been consistent enough for a team with as lofty ambitions as Liverpool.

Now, Kerkez has shared a bit of what it has been like arriving at Liverpool and how it compares to life on the South Coast.

Milos Kerkez says the professionalism at Liverpool has been a surprise but he’s “really happy”

Liverpool agreed a £40m fee with Bournemouth in late June for the transfer of Milos Kerkez and is expected to start for the Reds although he will have to compete with Robertson for that honour.

In quotes shared by the Liverpool Echo, Kerkez said: “Of course I know it is one of the biggest clubs in the world and when I came it just surprised me also how professional everything is and how high a level everything is.

“And that you really have to work hard every single day to compete. It’s the highest level.

“That surprised me but it’s also what I was looking for, so I’m really happy.”

Kerkez was a key player for the Cherries last season, helping them to a joint-record highest 9th-place Premier League finish, playing 38 out of 38 games for a total of 3,342 minutes.

His athleticism and fitness are key attributes that will make him a very reliable player for Arne Slot. His performance levels are also impressively consistent, registering a 7.06 average for the season, according to Sofascore.
