Mohamed Salah may have trained alongside his Liverpool teammates ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Inter Milan, but one player has missed out.

Salah has dominated the headlines in the past couple of days, following his bombshell comments regarding his future at Anfield:

“It seems like the club is throwing me under the bus, that’s how I feel. I think it’s very clear that someone wants me to get all the blame. The club made a lot of promises to me in the summer and so far I’m on the bench three games, so I can’t say that they’ve ‘kept their promise.

“I said before I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why. It seems to me, I would say, that someone doesn’t want me in the club. But again, this club, I’ll always support it, my kids will always support it, I love the club so much. I always will do.”

Writing on X on Monday morning, journalist Jack Lusby confirmed that Federico Chiesa was absent from Liverpool’s training ahead of the Inter game, along with Wataru Endo, with Salah involved at the AXA Training Centre:

“No Federico Chiesa or Wataru Endo in the LFC squad training at the AXA this lunchtime.”

A latest blow in Chiesa’s frustrating Liverpool career

Chiesa just can’t get going in a Liverpool shirt, with Arne Slot seemingly not considering him an important player, even when other attacking players are struggling for form.

The 28-year-old could now miss out against Inter, robbing him of a chance to impress back in his homeland of Italy, in a new blow for him. He may not be included in the travelling squad anyway.

The winger has so much ability, even being described as “world-class” by Alessandro Pierini in the past, but it increasingly feels as though this could be his final season in a Liverpool shirt.

He deserves more playing time currently, however, having chipped in with important goals this season, including the late strike at home to Bournemouth on the opening weekend, but it remains to be seen if Slot will turn to him once he is fully fit again.
