Rumoured Liverpool summer target Ryan Gravenberch has failed to rule out a move to Anfield, but does admit he would prefer to stay put at Bayern Munich.
The 21-year-old is one of numerous midfielders to have been linked with the Reds in recent weeks and months, as they look to strengthen significantly in the middle of the park.
Gravenberch moved to Bayern from Ajax last summer, with big things expected from arguably one of Europe’s brightest young midfielders, but he had a tough 2022/23 campaign overall.
The Dutchman was limited to just three starts in the Bundesliga in the whole season, coming on as a substitute on 21 occasions, and he also only started twice in the Champions League.
“I’ve read that too. It could be that there are plans with me. I haven’t really spoken to the coach about that yet, that will come after the EC when I’m back from Georgia and Romania. Then we will see how things are.
“I just want to play more, preferably at Bayern Munich. And otherwise at a club where I play 100%. That’s where my preference lies.
“Because I don’t want to have another year like the one I’ve had now. One such season is good; I really learned a lot. But I just want to play football.”

This certainly gives Liverpool some hope of still getting their man, although in truth, it does now feel as though Gravenberch is one of Liverpool’s less likely midfield targets to come in.
With Alexis Mac Allister already added, the hope is that Khephren Thuram is the next name on the list, with the Nice star constantly backed to head to Merseyside.
If Liverpool could sign him, and then also either acquire the services of Manu Kone, Gabri Veiga or Romeo Lavia, it could be a hugely positive transfer window, also lessening the need to bring in Gravenberch.
Should the Bayern youngster end up joining the Reds, though, he would also be an exciting signing because of his potential, having been nominated for the prestigious European Golden Boy award last year.
