Liverpool secured a priceless 1-0 win away to RB Leipzig on Wednesday evening and some supporters loved one moment that stood out.

Arne Slot’s men knew that victory at the Red Bull Arena would further strengthen their hopes of reaching the Champions League knockout rounds early next year.

Liverpool did exactly that, edging out their opponents thanks to Darwin Nunez’s close-range strike before half-time.

It wasn’t always pretty from the Reds, with moments of sloppiness creeping in and Caoimhin Kelleher having to bail them out a number of times, but they got the job done.

Incredibly, it’s now 11 wins from a possible 12 for Slot since taking charge of Liverpool in the summer, with the Dutchman catching the eye so much.

There was plenty to admire about the Reds’ dogged victory in Germany on Wednesday, and one moment involving Ryan Gravenberch summed up the season he is having.

Not only was the 22-year-old a class act in possession all evening, but he also did so much good defensive work, with one crucial interception in the second half a standout contribution.

It wasn’t lost on captain Virgil van Dijk, who was quick to run to him to show his appreciation, along with a number of his teammates.

Our thoughts on Gravenberch this season…

The strides that Gravenberch has made this season are truly remarkable, with very few expecting him to be such a fixture in Liverpool’s midfield.

Not only is the Dutchman now a shoo-in alongside Alexis Mac Allister, but there is also a strong argument to say that he has been the Reds’ best player so far this season.

Gravenberch is combining quality on the ball, an ability to cover ground and also admirable defensive duties, completing 89.3% of his passes in the Premier League and proving to be so eye-catching in tight areas, as well as averaging two tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game.

Hopefully, this is just the start of a a special Liverpool career for the young midfielder, who has been tipped for great things since his teenage years.
