Remember the days when Leeds were challenging at the top end of the Premier League table? I’m sure everyone recalls David O’Leary’s young side that lit up Elland Road in the late-nineties with their brand of attacking football winning them a legion of supporters. They squad was remarkable with players like Harry Kewell, Lee Bowyer, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Bridges, Ian Harte and Jonathan Woodgate all playing major roles in their rise to third in the 1999/00 season. The unsung hero of that campaign had to be goalkeeper Nigel Martyn with his experience and sheer quality shining through as Leed’s qualified for the Champions League.
