Heskey has long since been a player that’s divided opinion. Many, myself included, championed his inclusion at the last World Cup as it simply got the best out of Rooney in qualifying. He also dovetailed well with Michael Owen for the national side in the past too. However, his goal record simply isn’t good enough – a return of 7 goals in 61 games tells the story of a career that’s failed to hit the heights many thought it capable of.
