Roman Abramovich has a funny way of running a football club. Instead of inquiring which players his manager would want he seems to treat his club as a large and expensive game of ‘Football Manager’ in which he simply likes the look of certain players and buys them regardless of whether they are right for the club or not. Last year he bought David Luiz and Fernando Torres, both of whom spent large amounts of time on the bench for the rest of the season.
