Despite glimpses of his talent, he has never really built on the promise he showed in his early days at Southampton. Clearly a talented player, but has consistently flattered to deceive at Arsenal, and failed to look like the finished article. Arsenal fans are still waiting to see the best of him. Perhaps employing him in a more central role is the way to achieve this?
