While I won’t delve into some of the vitriolic hyperbole often reserved for Delap, suffice to say that he’d be playing a few leagues lower if it wasn’t for his famed long throw. He may be a disciplined player with a good engine that’s a crucial weapon in Stoke’s armoury, but he rarely does anything of note with the ball at his feet as opposed to his hands.
