It is Liverpool’s “big summer dream” to sign Real Madrid forward Brahiam Diaz with a report from Spain claiming it’s the Reds’ summer priority to bring him to Anfield.
On Thursday, Mohamed Salah took his tally for the season to 26 goals and 18 assists as the Egyptian continues to show Europe why he is the best attacker around.
Cody Gakpo also got in on the action against Spurs with the Reds through to the final of the Carabao Cup, proving how dangerous the Reds are in attack.
While Liverpool are not short on attacking options, a new report has surfaced linking them with a “dream” move to sign Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid in the summer.
According to a “bombshell” from Fichajes, it’s “Liverpool’s big summer dream” to bring Brahim Diaz to Anfield with the winger said to be the number one target for the Reds to sign when the season ends.
The Morrocan has reportedly caught the eye of Arne Slot with his displays this season. He has three goals and six assists for Real Madrid but with more game time, he could flourish into an attacking double threat.
Slot has reportedly “expressed great interest in signing” Diaz in the summer and Liverpool would be prepared to make “a significant financial effort to complete the signing.”
Madrid have not yet ruled out keeping him but Fichajes claim a “significant” offer could tempt them into letting the 25-year-old leave.
Diaz is a wonderful player but is there space for him?
There is no doubting Diaz is a wonderful player and seems to be enjoying his football at Real Madrid but unless Liverpool sell someone this summer, there is little space in the squad for another talented winger.
As it is, Liverpool have Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota as their backup attacking options and if Diaz were to join the club, Slot would have an impossible job trying to fit them all into his matchday squad.
Of course, Mohamed Salah could leave in the summer if he and Liverpool cannot agree on a new contract but even then, Brahim Diaz is not the man needed to replace him.
While the report says it’s Liverpool’s dream to sign Diaz, it seems difficult to imagine this transfer happening.
