Signing Jeremie Frimpong doesn’t make much sense for Liverpool, says David Lynch, as the journalist pokes holes in the idea of seeing him move to Anfield in the summer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold announced his intended move to Real Madrid when his Liverpool contract expires on June 30 and the collective Liverpool fanbase lost their minds for a day or so.

It has overshadowed a lot of the excitement surrounding the Premier League title win but just like any other player, he will be replaced and Liverpool will keep winning silverware.

On that note, the silver lining is that Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, the best ever attacker and defender ever to play in England, are set to continue playing at Anfield for at least another two years.

Arne Slot will also be adding more quality to his squad as he looks to bring his vision for Liverpool to life with some well placed signings with both fullback positions sure to be his starting point.

Conor Bradley will be given a chance to replace Alexander-Arnold while Milos Kerkez looks likely to replace Kostas Tsimikas.

In terms of competition for Bradley, Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong has been heavily linked with the Reds for months but he might not be the perfect signing many of us may have hoped.

Liverpool fans should be sceptical about links to Jeremie Frimpong, says David Lynch

Frimpong is not the traditional right back Liverpool may be looking for and is much closer to a right wing back than anything, says journalist David Lynch in a conversation with Sports Mole.

The 24-year-old has four goals and 12 assists this season for Leverkusen.

“With the Frimpong thing, I saw what David Ornstein wrote where he said he’d be on the market for fairly cheap and he’d jump at the chance to join Liverpool,” Lynch said.

“That doesn’t mean that Liverpool are interested at all. He’s a right wing-back, he’s not a right-back at all.

“When you have someone like Conor Bradley who can nail down that shirt, will Frimpong want to come and be the backup to that? I’m sceptical about those links.”

Giorgi Mamardashvili will also be joining the club will, ironically, Federico Chiesa could leave the club after a fleeting move to Anfield where he has found it borderline impossible to come across league minutes.

The big one, however, is Liverpool’s interest in Alexander Isak with Fabrizio Romano now sharing when the Reds will have their chance to sign him.
