Although his latest comments after the 2-0 win vs Curacao make it increasingly clear that this transfer saga is highly unlikely to be resolved while the World Cup is still ongoing.
“No, I don’t know [where he’ll be playing next season],” he said. “I’m not thinking about my future after the World Cup.
“I’m trying to put all my energy on the World Cup and see what is going to happen after, but I can’t say anything about that.”

As things stand today, Liverpool have not yet followed up with a second official offer. Last week, the Reds failed with an opening bid for Diomande worth around £86 million a massive statement of intent, but one that was knocked back by the Bundesliga club.
The reality facing Liverpool is a familiar one. Leipzig are under absolutely no immediate pressure to sell one of Europe’s brightest young gems.
