winger will complete a €4m (£3.4m) to Olympiakos on Thursday, according to reports in the Greek press. The initial fee of €4m will rise by €2m (£1.7m) if the Greek club win the Superleague next season. The fee which will eventually amount to £5m will be a loss on the £8m the Reds paid for the player in September 2008, and although the Spanish international had a relatively successful first year at the club, his second was shrouded in controversy. After a training ground bust up, his outspoken comments about and the club being a “sinking ship” led to him being frozen out at Anfield and a move to was speculated. Yet he was included in ’s pre-season squad to and there was a possibility of a reintroduction into first team affairs, but now it looks like he will be leaving Liverpool.

Rafa and his buys. Total joke him buying all this rubbish. Rafa is so over rated. Thankfully he is gone for good.

A very good player. Who knows what happened with the training ground bust up. Maybe the youngster he supposedly punched deserved it?
Looks like he was quite correct in his statement about Liverpool under Rafa. Echoed by Yossi.
We had a best season in nearly 20 years with him as a regular.

I liked Riera and I think he was right about Benitez who totally lacked man management…
