Reds to be involved in bidding war for Dutch starlet?

|

Liverpool are all set to bid for PSV Eindhoven’s Dutch international Ibrahim Afellay along with Everton and Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to reports. PSV will put the 24 year old up for sale in January as they seek to recoup as much money as possible before his contract expires in the summer. A PSV insider told talkSPORT:

“It’s best for the both of us if we let Afellay go in January. It makes the most sense from a business point of view as he’s not going to sign a new contract. We want as much money as possible for him as he’s been a valuable player for PSV.”

It is believed his most likely destination will be either Spain or Italy, but Afellay has recently expressed an interest in moving to England:

“Playing in the Premier League would be best for my prestige. I’d like to play for Liverpool or Manchester United, the top-level prospect for any player.”

this player is just not needed, he is not that much better than young, if we can a. young for around 14 mill then why take a very big risk like we did with another dutch over rated player in babel, when we can go to a player who would settle quicker and that knows this league at least?

for me people are getting to up on this bloke form another very poor league, in fact the dutch league is so poor it only just beats the scottish mess of a league! its a big gamnble for lfc to give this guy a long term deal when all he has done is play in his own backyard for one team, yes he has talent but that doesnt mean a thing these days! buy young for just a bit more and thats one of the wings sorted for pace and crossing, affelay no thanks
