Roy: He was like Carlos Alberto of old

|

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson believes the Blackburn performance has set a benchmark for the rest of the season. He even said in jest that Jamie Carragher’s performance at right back could draw comparisons with Brazil’s legendary full back Carlos Alberto. He said to Liverpoolfc.tv:

“We were much more incisive, we got behind them more, we got behind them down the flanks, and Jamie Carragher was bombing down there like Carlos Alberto of old. We didn’t concede too much space either and were winning the ball back quickly. It was the right sort of performance but we’ve got to give another 29 of those. If we can do that, we won’t go too far wrong but there’s a lot of work to be done here – everyone knows it. We’re working in adversity but sometimes work done in adversity can be beneficial in the long-term because when you come out the other side you are a much stronger team and much stronger people.”

Liverpool face Bolton Wanderers away on Sunday in their next Premier League encounter.

Agree, the man is a fool…Carra has not got the engine anymore to play Right back, as was proved against Blackpool when he was out on his feet after 60 mins. He may have got away with it against Blackburn but that was because they posed little attacking threat and we were camped in their half.

What ever happened to the old saying “if your good enough, your old enough”!, coz it applies to Martin Kelly who is being ignored solely on the basis of age and experience?!

carling cup fergusson brings on henandez to win the game – wenger said its a must win competition, roy plays a totally makeshift team and has an untried 17 year old non striker as our last chance against northampton. we have the player to win the fa cup and the europa cup ang make the top 6 very minimum but he is going about trying to lessen our expectations – if we win any games it will be despite him not because of him.

lukas is saying what the useless manager should be saying – a couple of wins and we will climb right up the table – not roy, quote “if we get beat next week we will be back were we started” pillock ! houndog expression, head in hands, a picture of negativity- perhaps a few wins despite him will get him thinking straight and he might propser. i want him to succeed.
