Rumour Mill: Reds tracking Northern Irish star?

|

The Belfast Telegraph is reporting that Liverpool are tracking West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt. The Northern Ireland international has impressed during West Brom’s return to the top flight and according to the paper, Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is looking to strengthen his options on the wing by attempting to buy 25 year old Brunt in the January transfer window. They quote a Liverpool source:

“West Brom will be reluctant to let Brunt go but Roy will have money to spend and he’s been impressed by Brunt and the influence he’s had on games this season.”

The paper values the player at £8million, and it remains to be seen whether the Reds would be interested at that price.

With NESV and their latest statement do not expect Brunt to be coming or many others that are rumoured to come.
One thing that will happen is a cleanout and i would be surprised to see many if any expensive arrivals.

After the recent statement expect NESV to demand the price is lowered and then a sell on clause or potential money if we win the league.
If we going to be looking at players like Brunt, then he should also be looking at players like Adam, Shawcross and P Jones.

Before NESV took over Brunt was linked to us with a 10 million price tag, now 2 weeks on hes gone down to 8 million, for me hes worth no more than 4 million.

I still don’t see Roy in charge come January, if he gets wins from the next 2 tough fixtures Bolton away and Chelsea at home i might start to like him as manager but frankly i don’t see it happening……YNWA
