The Biggest Indication Yet That Kenny Will Be Staying?

It has been reported in the last few days that first team coach Steve Clarke will be offered a new deal by Liverpool to keep him at the club beyond the end of the season. Fenway Sports Group are keen to tie down the Scot after reported interest from Real Madrid who would like Clarke to team up and assist Head Coach Jose Mourinho once again.

FSG have certainly recognised the massive influence that Clarke has had over first team affairs since his arrival in January. Many of the first team players have spoken out in praise of Clarke’s methods, and as he has taken on the responsibility of leading training sessions, ahead of Kenny Dalglish, a lot of credit has been given to Clarke for turning around the fortunes of the club.

The appointment of Clarke as first team coach has been seen as one the shrewdest decisions made by both Kenny Dalglish and Director of Football Damien Comolli since their arrival at the club, and he looks set to be rewarded with a new contract which will see him become part of the Liverpool setup for many years to come.

The biggest question mark over the news that Clarke may get a new deal however, is what this means for Kenny Dalglish? After all, Kenny was the one that wanted the appointment of Clarke, along with Comolli, and the pair have complimented each other very well with Dalglish dealing with the man-management aspects of the job, while Clarke sets out many of the training drills, which have helped with Liverpool’s revival.
