Emiliano Insua will get his opportunity to prove himself to Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish on Saturday when the Reds play a Malaysia XI. The Argentine was unable to link up with Liverpool in China because of a visa issue. Insua wrote on his twitter page:

“I will meet the team on Thursday. . . I am looking forward to playing on Saturday.”

The Argentine spent last season out on loan at Galatasaray and is hopeful of getting into Dalglish’s plans for the new season.

This week it is former LFC WAG Edita Hortova!

Oh bloody marvelous! Just wot we need…. NOT!

  • Hold on he wasn’t that bad. Consider that he is not English and was about 19yrs old. He had to settle in a new country and as we haven’t had a decent LB in so many years, he was played to much too soon.
He has been called up to the Argentina first team. Might even have a cap.
He has played a season for Fiorentina in Itay and now a season in Turkey. He is coming back with some experience and I think both teams have had better seasons than LFC have recently.
Give him a chance and see what player he is now.
I bet if you had read that Kenny or Commoli have spotted a 21 yr old left Argentine LB, who played for Fiorentina and Galatasary – you’d be shouting sign him up !
He also has already played in the Premiership and with some of the current squad so can settle quickly.

Agreed. There aren’t many decent left backs around and apart from all the ones we have been linked with who else in the premier league would we take?

A number of players are only just breaking into teams at 21 so he still has time in his side and deserves another chance.

I may be wrong but wouldn’t he also class as homegrown for Champions League when we get back in?

completely agree. He isnt bad. Needs more tailored coaching. Young lad, argentinian- new culture, language and surroundings! It takes some people longer to adjust. This isnt football manager! Its real life

I think he is far better than paul konchesky & wayne bribge……………..

Better than what we had beginning of last season but very flat footed.

  • Vito says:

He has 4 caps for Argentina, and never played for Fiorentina – he’s only been on loan for a season, but I agree with the rest of what you’re saying.

Too much too soon, but I think he can recover well from it – put in impressive performances in Turkey, looks slimmer, and has regained a bit of pace.

give him a new contract and a season to prove himself. If all else fails, at least we’ll get some money for him.

    Im good man…
