IF you have no idea what I’m talking about, ‘Being: Liverpool’ in the club’s own words is ‘a truly unique insight into what goes on behind-the-scenes at Liverpool Football Club’.
The documentary followed the squad on their road to the F.A. Cup Final last season, their pre season tour of America all the way up to the close of the transfer window. But I assume most of you have heard of it.
In my opinion, this documentary could go either way.
What I hope it is, is a wonderful insightful look into the daily running of the club and the preparation that’s involved for such important games. As well as allowing us to see the players and staff in a more comfortable environment affording them more freedom to express themselves compared to the boring, textbook post match interviews. This would leave me with a greater understanding and appreciation of the hard work that is done whilst also endearing me to individuals.
That is what I hope.
However, although everyone loves “fly on the wall” documentaries, it is rarely assumed that it will reflect well on whoever we are listening to. A similar film called ‘QPR: The Four Year Plan’ left many ‘wondering if the people who had bought the famous London club had a clue, let alone a plan.’ Evidence that this can turn out the complete opposite of what we hope our documentary will show.
We shall just have to wait and see…
Being: Liverpool premiers 16th September in America on the Fox Network and will be shown later in the month in the UK on Channel Five. Hollywood star and boyhood Reds fan Clive Owen provides the narration for what should make for fascinating viewing.

Are you serious, it should be renamed “Being Liverpool through FSG Eyes” they have full editing rights, in other words, we wont see Kenny’s dismissal and the conversations that preceded it, The transfer fiasco, the truth as to who FSG originally wanted to manage the club, and other vital snips, I wouldnt put too much faith in what we see.
This is really attention-grabbing, You’re an excessively skilled blogger. I’ve joined your feed and look ahead to looking for more of your great post. Also, I have shared your website in my social networks
Not really looking forward to the bad press its going to get, but I rememeber in 1995 a documentary on LFC was played on local TV, and a 9 year old me fell in love with the club. So i can easily say watching that documentary was the best thing that ever happened to me. If this documentary can do the same to a couple of hundred or even thousand kids out there and change their lives to the better like its done with me, then I think it wouldve achieved its objetive
