Liverpool will again be without the goal-scoring threat of Daniel Sturridge

Another break over and it looked as if Liverpool would be going into the game against QPR with the returning Sturridge, Allen and Can but after the injury to Daniel Sturridge last night, Liverpool will once again have to rely on the likes of Sterling, Markovic, Lallana and Mario Balotelli for goals.

Dan had been out since the last break for duty with England and it looked as if he’d be fit and raring to go for the trip to London but manager Rodgers has confirmed that the player has suffered another injury and will be out for a few more weeks yet.

Brendan said “Daniel has pulled his calf.

“He’s looking at being out for another two to four weeks.

“It’s a big blow as we were looking forward to welcoming Daniel back. He has worked tirelessly.

“But we have other players training hard and working hard and we will turn to them. It’s why we bulked up the squad in the summer.”

So, with Liverpool’s second top scorer from last season and only real reliable goal-scorer out, the question over whether Balotelli can really cut it for the Reds will again be raised, unless he can come up with the goods against QPR.

Do you think Liverpool will continue to struggle in Dan Sturridge’s absence or can the team cope without the striker?

Unless we get someone up front with Balotelli then yes, we’re really going to struggle!

am so disturbed, what kind of a player is this one who is so delicate like an egg. God please save my team,br should now go for an established striker not these makeshift types of strikers like lambat and baloteli.

No surprise at all. Daniel is a fine player but what use is someone who is injured virtually all of the time? Time to get rid of him – he is never going to play more than a handful of matches before the next long lay-off. Sad but true.

I agree, the guy must have some weakness in him…Suarez was rarely injured this guy is like a girl get shut..how long was he out with a thigh injury…was it 6 or 8 weeks..I’ve known players come back earlier after a leg break

Nice comments.but im here to tell you all that the reason why we are feeling this loss is because BR did not sign a quality replacement for the departed suarez, even from last season it was glaring that sturridge is not your man for a season of over 30games plus,we can all moan about this injury but i still ask BR how well did he prepare for all this,by signing Rlambert.now thats what i call mediocrity.my stand remains BR failed to get a good or better back up and thats y we are here moaning.I say to you all BR will never learn from jis mistakes, wake up before its late.we need a world class experienced gaffer.#SIGN QUALITY NOT QUANTITY.07064817226,CALL ME FOR FURTHER REASONS WHY BR IS NOT THE MAN FOR US.
