According to reports late last night, Liverpool will close out the signing of James Milner by the end of the current week. The England international is due to leave Manchester City at the end of his current contract and can officially sign for the Reds on July 1st.
From reports in the likes of the Telegraph & the Liverpool ECHO Liverpool have already reached a verbal agreement with Milner’s representatives and are confident that the player will now sign for the club in the coming weeks.
Milner will bring a great deal of experience and quality to Anfield, having won 2 Premier League titles, and FA Cup and league cup in his five years at the Etihad, making 160 appearances, scoring 17 goals in 4 seasons.
It is believed that Milner is taking a reduced deal, compared to the offer City have put on for him, but will still be a big increase on his current deal with City, and he will be guaranteed to be a weekly starter, with the departure of Steven Gerrard, along with the likes of Lucas Leiva moving out of the club.
