Liverpool are interested in signing Aston Villa full back Jordan Amavi, according to L’Equipe. The 22 year old is also being tracked by AC Milan, Lyon and one other club, the French paper reports.
Amavi spent most of last season on the treatment table after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury for the French Under 21s against Northern Ireland in November. It meant he only played 12 games in all competitions as Villa were relegated to the Championship.
Despite his injury and paying Nice a reported £9million for the 22 year old only last summer, L’Equipe believes Villa will demand at least €14million or £11million for the left back.
The Reds have been linked with a number of left backs as they look to strengthen the position with Alberto Moreno struggling for any consistent form. The most heavily linked is Leicester’s Ben Chilwell with the reliable Liverpool Echo confirming the Reds interest, but Portugal international Raphael Guerreiro has also been linked in recent days.
