Sassuolo’s chief executive John Carnevali has denied that the club is under any pressure to sell full back Sime Vrsaljko. The Croatian international has been linked to Atletico Madrid and Liverpool in the Spanish media but Carnevali says that there have only been negotiations with Napoli. He states they will only sell the 24 year old with the “right conditions:” He is quoted by La Gazzetta di Modena (via tuttomercatoweb) as saying:

“We have never spoken directly with Atletico Madrid, but we confirm that negotiations are ongoing with Napoli. We will see what will happen – we still are not forced to sell anyone, least Vrsaljko. He will leave under the right conditions, not only for him but also for Sassuolo, otherwise he will remain with us.”

Vrsaljko will be at this summer’s European Championships with Croatia after being part of a Sassuolo side which confounded expectations in the Italian league last season. The Italian club finished 6th in Serie A, qualifying for a European club competition for the first time in its history under manager Eusebio Di Francesco. They have had sharp rise through the ranks of Italian Football, financed by Giorgio Squinzi, owner of building materials firm MAPEI, they were playing in the Italian fourth division just a decade ago.
