Liverpool are among three clubs interested in signing Ignacio Camacho from Malaga, according to Spanish newspaper AS. The Reds have been linked with the player over the past few months as the Reds scout across Europe for a central midfielder.

The paper believes that the Reds, Ligue One side Monaco and Valencia all follow Camacho and that the player has an €18million or £15million buyout clause in his contract.

The 26 year old looks to be among a number of central midfield targets which Jurgen Klopp is looking at. Mahmoud Dahoud of Borussia Monchengladbach, Udinese’s Piotr Zielinski and Porto’s Hector Herrera and Reuben Neves have all been linked with a move to Anfield recentlu.

Among the candidates, Camacho is by far the most experienced, however, he only made 24 appearances for the Spanish side last season, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Whether he would provide the quality the Reds are looking for in the central midfield area is up for debate.
