Porto midfielder Hector Herrera has declared that he is happy to stay at the Portuguese club. The Mexican international has been heavily linked with Napoli in recent weeks, with Liverpool also said to have taken an interest in the 26 year old.

Reports in Italy have said that Napoli have been close to sealing a deal for the player but there has been a disagreement with Porto over the transfer fee with the Portuguese side looking for €25million. Herrera says that although he has heard about the rumours, he is focused on Porto rather than Napoli or any other club. He is quoted by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo as saying:

“It pleases me to hear these rumours, as it means that I’ve been doing things properly. I’m in a great club like Porto, I’m very happy here and I’m thinking about continuing my work. Right now I’m not thinking about Napoli very much.”

Porto have been looking to offload a number of players this summer to ensure they stay within UEFA’s Financial Fairplay laws but so far their activity has been limited to signing the likes of Liverpool’s Joao Carlos Teixeira after he turned down a new deal to stay at Anfield.
