Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is being tracked by Liverpool, according to Spanish news outlet OK Diario. They are reporting that the Croatian is unhappy under manager Luis Enrique and is looking for a move away from the Camp Nou.

The 28 year old has a difficult relationship with Enrique. He doesn’t like being the first player to be replaced by a substitute and he believes the Barca boss does it so he doesn’t substitute and upset other star players. The second reason is that he doesn’t like playing in central midfield and would like to play further forward as a playmaker.

OK Diario is reporting Liverpool have bid €50million or £42million for Rakitic although Barca are believed to have rejected the approach. The Catalan club will need to sell to buy other players this summer and may yet yield in selling the Croatian. OK Diario believe Rakitic himself is happy with the Reds approach as he knows the Merseyside club could increase his salary, but he may wait for other offers in the Premier League who could not only match Liverpool’s wages but also give him Champions league football.
