Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has hailed the impact of forward Sadio Mane on the Reds’ attacking play this season.
The Senegalese international signed from Southampton for £30million in the summer and has made an instant impact with a string of high quality performances.
When asked by Liverpoolfc.com what Mane offers the side, the Brazilian replied:
“A lot, he’s a fantastic player. He’s very quick, he’s got very good feet, so that helps us to create a lot of chances to score – not just him but as we saw in the game, Daniel [Sturridge], Firmino, Lallana up there too.”
As well as making a big impact during Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Leicester City at the weekend by scoring the second goal, Mane has contributed assists and goals in games against Arsenal and Burton while also putting in a good display against Tottenham. His absence in Liverpool’s only defeat so far this season against Burnley was significant, and it will be interesting to see if the 24 year old now kicks on and ensures he continues his good form throughout the season as the Reds chase a top four finish. Their next match away against Chelsea on Friday night will surely be the toughest test yet for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
