1st Feb – Liverpool 2 – 0 Bolton Wanderers (Lancashire Senior Cup) – Playing alongside Ayala, Kelly and Darby in the backline, Liverpool’s defence looked solid and despite Bolton having the best of the early chances, with a double strike from Aaron Mooy and a point blank header from Rhys Bennett, the Reds held firm at the back. Bolton also had the better start to the second half and keeper Peter Gulacsi was once again asked to provide heroics in the Liverpool goal to prevent Javlon Campbell from scoring. With Liverpool already 1-0 up, the Reds held firm as Bolton pressed forward to find an equaliser but Damien Plessis finished off the match late on to send Liverpool in the next round.
