Liverpool will host Brighton and Hove Albion in their Premier League clash at Anfield this weekend, and Jurgen Klopp could be set to make several changes.
The Reds return to action in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, hosting Brighton at Anfield, with the hope that they can get ahead in the tight title race by taking all three points on home turf.
Liverpool have the opportunity to steal the top spot as Arsenal and Manchester City will go head-to-head at the Etihad Stadium after the clash at Anfield and points dropped by both would be the most ideal outcome.
In terms of injuries, Klopp has had somewhat of an injury crisis to battle with and as it stands, Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara are all unavailable for selection and ruled out.
However, there will be a late fitness test on Andrew Robertson and Curtis Jones as they fight to be back in contention, while Darwin Nunez should be available for selection after missing out on Uruguay’s international fixtures due to a hamstring injury.
How could Liverpool line up vs Brighton?
We predict that there will be two changes to the team that lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final clash, with Klopp maintaining his classic 4-3-3 formation.
In goal we expect to see Caoimhin Kelleher retain his spot as Alisson continues his recovery, whilst Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk also remain starters for the meeting with Brighton.
We predict that Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate will be the only two changes to the starting eleven, with Bradley replacing Gomez on the right, whilst Gomez covers for Robertson on the right.
Youthful star Jarrell Quansah will lose his spot in the centre-back partnership as Konate is given the nod following his return to the matchday squad after recovering from injury.
In midfield, we expect to see a completely unchanged trio with Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai occupying the centre of the pitch.
Last but not least, the attacking threat will also remain unchanged with Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez relied upon to secure the goals needed to take all three points from the visitors this afternoon.
