20th Mar – Liverpool 2 – 1 Derby County (Premier Academy League) – Striker Michael Ngoo partnered Krisztian Adorjan up front but they both failed to score as the young reds came from a goal down to win 2-1 against Derby. The Rams took an undeserved lead but after Tony Silva came on for Matthew McGiveron early in the second half, the young Portuguese player scored two quick fire goals within 10 minutes of his introduction. Ngoo has had a promising first season in the Red of Liverpool after transferring from Southend in September, but he will want to improve his goal return as the season draws to a close. The win keeps Rodolfo Borrell’s side on their run of good form as they have now won four of their last five games. The Under 18s now find themselves 5th in the Premier Academy League Group C, and although they have played a few more games than the sides around them, they now only lie four points off top spot.
