Reds Preparing £2.5m bid for Wolves Goalkeeper

|

Liverpool are preparing a £2.5million bid for Wolves’ out of favour goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, according to the Daily Mirror. In a surprise move, Rafa Benitez has targeted the Wales international goalkeeper as back-up for Pepe Reina in the Reds goal. Current reserve keeper Diego Cavalieri is expected to return to Brazil in the summer and Rafa has turned his sights to the 23 year old Welshmen as his replacement. Hennessey has not been first choice at Wolves since November after a 4-0 loss to Chelsea and his place in the team has been taken by American veteran Marcus Hahnemann. Despite his current lack of game time though, Hennessey was a crucial member of the team that achieved promotion with Wolves last season, and despite a current loss of form, many of the Premier League’s biggest clubs have been looking at the young goalkeeper as a potential star of the future. Hennessey maybe a better bet than Dida, the 36 year old Milan keeper has also been linked with Liverpool in recent days.

rather have him than the old over rated dida, who was never that good was he! he was dreadfull even when people where saying he was good! cavalieri, has been a great little player, hardly gets a game, him and reina get on well but diego just isnt going to get alot of games, his attitude has been 1st class, never moans and always comes in and does ok, he is going back to brazil because of his family and some personel stuff and for once i wish a player real well, hes been a good player and a good sqaud mate. but the guy above just doesnt do it for me, however how many top class keepers come to sit on clubs subs bench! not many, if fact having a world number one at in club is hard enough, its that back up keepers that clubs need to fine, that then becomes hard.

as it stands thier are only 5 top class keepers in the world any way,

the real madrid keeper, reina, the lyon keeper, the inter milan goalie, and maybe van der saar, but then hes getting on, and please dont tell me buffon, have you seen how slow he is,,,,

reina is within the best two keepers in th eworld by far,
