Ngog, Degen, Kuyt… These Average players have to be shipped out

|

Deserves his chance

I have said it before and I will happily say it again.  There are far too many ‘average’ players at Liverpool Football Club and this summer needs to be the summer when major changes are made both in turns of recruting players, board changes and maybe even a management change if Liverpool are to progress from what has been a horrible season.

Sotirios Kyrgiakos, Ryan Babel, Dirk Kuyt, Nabil El Zhar, Phillipp Degen and David Ngog are simply not Liverpool quality, they’d maybe even struggle to be championship quality which ever way you try and dress it up.  These players need to be sold on in the summer in an attempt to try and raise some capital to try and purchase players of higher quality – of Liverpool quality.

Steven Gerrard is a fantastic player, somewhat so that you often feel that he is not in adequate enough company.  Some of the players he is playing with currently, do not do the skipper any justice.  He is that good-a-player he should be playing with footballers who are of the same or at least relatively close to his own ability.

David Villa, David Silva and Juan Mata are all players who have been mentioned in the past.  These players are good enough to be playing for our club but of course their value would obviously raise a problem as the club simply doesn’t have the funds available to sign these players.

In my opinion the club needs to use more of the younger players who have been waiting for their chance.  The likes of Daniel Ayala, Martin Kelly, Daniel Pacheco and Krisztian Nemeth should be drafted in and given their opportunity to shine on a big stage.  They will certainly show the passion and motivation that is sometimes lacking from the likes of Ryan Babel whose Liverpool career is almost certain to come to an end in the summer.

If changes are not made then I think we can safely expect a similar season next campaign.

Kuyt has been one of our better players all season, he’s always committed and has got us out of trouble on a number of times you are an absolute idiot.

live4liverpool, its this sort of average website that need to be shut down. Utter drivel.

Watch some football and get off champ manager or wherever you get your opinions.

Who in the hell cares what David Ryder thinks. You are clearly a talksport listener to think things are that simple. And to slag off a young player in Ngog is disgusting.

I shall be complaining to the owner of this site. You are an intellectual disgrace.

Lazy blog. Nothing new. Nothing interesting. Wrong about Kuyt. Probably just copied from other blogs and unlikely to have seen any games this season.

  • As have seen,Ryder wanted to get rid of the young up coming players in the academy; Ayala, pacheco and Ngog who scored almost 8 brilliant goals this season and has been a dorminant substitutes for Torres. How can you sell a young player like Ngog and Ayala who are fixing themselves in the first eleven.Players like Degen,El zar but not Ryan Babel and Dirk kuyt who is sometimes a play maker.Ryder is only naming the players to be shipped out but not even naming any replacement for those named out.besides defenders and mid fielders are not on the wanting list yet mid field is the major problems of the club as awhole, after departure of Alonso to Madrid.

    So very true!

Kuyt may be committed but he his a woeful footballer who we shouldn’t have signed in the first place. Forget how big his heart is, this isn’t a charity – if he’s poor then he should go.

The same applies to all of the other names you have mentioned.

Unfortunately, it is people like the few who have commented on the original post, who are holding Liverpool back.

Sick of mediocrity?! Yes, then we need to get rid of the dross ASAP….and that includes Kuyt you idiots!

its a bloody a 180 min game…means they are working just 2 hours a day…i’ve collecting garbage for life..walking thru corridors and believe me…kuyt must go.so does with lucas and others.

imagine my most drop of beers on the floor was cursing these labour.couldn’t even have a good day with my can.

  • Barry says:

Totally agree that Kuyt does not belong in a premiership team. All industry and little real skill.

  • Greg says:

Dirk Kuyt may have a choice before next season: to be a reserve at Liverpool or first-choice elsewhere. He’s not as good as Torres, obviously, and Maxi’s better than him as a right-midfielder too.
Kuyt’s not bad, and I wouldn’t mind if he stayed to be a reserve – at least he tries – but of all our players who aren’t first-team material he’s possibly the one we might get the most money for.

  • Aizat says:

Kuyt is an average player? Are you kidding me? He’s a great footballer. Determined, tireless and truly professional. Ok, he has some bad first touch, but his work rate is undeniable. If determination, big heart and hard work are not considered at Liverpool, then please explain to me what is ‘Liverpool quality’.
