Voronin: Terry’s a “jerk” and Carra’s capable of “wickedness”

|

Former Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin has denounced John Terry as a “jerk” after undergoing surgery to correct a nose injury sustained when Terry accidentally hit him in the face in England’s 2-1 win over Ukraine 13 months ago. He also criticised the physical nature of English defenders. The Ukrainian said:

“Terry couldn’t clear the ball cleanly, so he hit me in the face. Jerk! In my opinion, he did it deliberately. Terry is capable of wickedness. As are Jamie Carragher and Rio Ferdinand. They are the masters.”

Voronin then went on to describe why he is not missing playing in the English Premier League:

“In England it’s carnage. If in a match one of the players doesn’t bleed, doesn’t smash his head in a collision or lose his leg, the fans feel cheated – the game was a failure. It’s a crazy pace from the first minute to the final whistle. Complete dedication, tremendous atmosphere in the stadiums, but the tactics of most teams are simple in the extreme: throw the ball 50 yards up the pitch and then mob rush up to the opposition goal to score.”

The Ukrainian international was sold for £1.8m to Dinamo Moscow in January after flattering to deceive in his two and half year spell at Anfield.

The way he describes the English game is so true! LOL

He’s a tube, was when we bought him, seen it when he played (badly) and his aura hangs in the air like a bad smell.
The surprise for me was that Rafa bought/signed him at all. He’s undeniably a duff buy & one that we are well shot of.

That will be why he couldn’t cut it then

His assessment of Terry is spot on in my opinion though I can’t stand by the same comments on Rio or Carra. Rio I don’t watch that often and Carra well, he’s not ‘wicked’ more pragmatic in my book!

Terry, in my opinion (&Rio for that matter) are NOT england captain material. Terry is a well known dirty player and Rio’s (&Terry’s) history of trouble should put them well away from that honour.
It should be Stevie G with Barry as his vice.

how can jimbo2010 say gerrard can be captain cause of the dirt on the other two when gerrard is just as bad, if i remember gerrard was in court only last year for assaulting a dj, the video evidence proves it. in my opinion none of them deserve it so at this stage i would have to goive to back to terry because they all have dirt on them.

Terry will be captain all 3 World Cup games!

  • Jay1978 says:

I think you’ll find Gerrard was found not guilty by a jury of his peers, so any decision not to give captaincy based on that is both unfair, and pretty ignorant. Rio on the otherhand was banned for avoiding a drug test, and Terry is the lowest of the low (he still doesn’t think he did anything wrong, idiot).

Vorinin is right about English football; just look at the likes of Blackburn and Stoke – can anyone honestly say they’re better than ANY team in La Liga? What annoys me is how ‘proud’ the media are, and the sheep that follow them, of the physical nature of the English league. Skill and tactics are substituted by aggression; it’s quite sad really. I’d much rather watch the likes of Arsenal week in week out.

  • Paul says:

Haha what an absolute b***h, who’s he to slag of two of the premier leagues top players?!

  • Lfc4life says:

Jake – everybody knows that DJ head butted gerrards fist!
    The evidence was conclusive!

  • philw1985 says:

Cut your stupid hair stop being a little girl and maybe you will be able to take a tackle like a man you tart, stick to netball, it’d suit you better. No skill, no determination, not good enough for the premiership never mind liverpool football club!

  • Pablo says:

Its a shame he’s gone tho, I seem to remember him being a rather natty dresser…his missus too..
