Young keeper leaves Reds

|

MK Dons have signed Liverpool keeper David Martin. The 24 year old will join the London Club on July 1st after his contract expires with the Merseyside club. Martin was at the Dons before he joined Liverpool in 2006 and will be new manager Karl Robinson’s first signing at the Stadium:mk. Robinson was a former assistant at the club before taking over as manager from Paul Ince earlier this week at the age of just 29 and he believes Martin will be a good signing:

“Since I met David during my time with Liverpool, he’s been a player I’ve admired for a very long time. He left this Club as a boy but he’s come back a man and I think he has all the qualities to be a future England goalkeeper. We want players at this Football Club that match our ambition, are passionate about playing for MK Dons and hungry for success. David certainly fits into all of those categories.”

Martin has signed a three year deal with the Dons, ending his time at Liverpool where he has been sent out on loan to 5 clubs, including to Derby County back in March.
