Out of contract England international midfielder Joe Cole will not be joining Manchester United, according to BBC Sport. The Manchester club have ruled out a move for the 28 year old who was released by Chelsea earlier this month after falling down the pecking order in Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Cole has been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool, but it is believed that Man U will not be one of the bidders for the England winger. Despite Sir Alex Ferguson being a long term admirer of the player, a senior club source told the BBC that Cole was not on the wishlist of Ferguson’s summer transfer targets. Cole has not featured in England’s two opening group matches of the World Cup but has said he will only consider his future after the tournament has finished.

Liverpool should not sign Cole. His wage demands are much to high. Now that ManU don’t want him there seems to be only on club in the UK left who can pay what he wants to earn and that is Man City. So, all in all, well done Mr. Purslow for not signing this guy.
We won’t be buyin’ anything without a new manager. Give the job to Pellegrini or Kenny D (I prefer the latter) before we lose out on every quality player that wants to go to the club (David Villa’s move to Barca was just the start).

Get rid of Riera for £5-7m, Benayoun for £6-8m and replace them with two better players who are both free Milan Jovanovic for Riera and Joe Cole for Benayoun, use whatever little money we can raise by selling the likes of iera,Benayoun,Degen,Nemeth,San Jose,Plessis,El Zhar,Itandje to buy a striker,a left back and maybe another winger if we sell Babel
