Italian Press: Inter closing in on Javier

|

The Il Corriere dello Sport are reporting that Inter Milan are moving closer in their pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano after initial talks were held with the player’s representatives. The talks are only at an early stage and more discussions are planned for next week, although it could yet be a lengthy transfer saga. Rafa Benitez has reportedly put the Argentinean captain at the top of his wishlist and the Italian newspaper believe Inter have been told the 26 year old will cost at least €30million to buy. The price may well be too high for the Nerazzurri as president Massimo Moratti has already stated that he will not spend big this summer, and the Italian club may look to negotiate a lower price for the player.
