Rumour Mill: Blues ready to step in for Jovanovic?

|

James Nursey of the Daily Mirror is reporting that Birmingham City are ready to hijack Liverpool’s deal for Milan Jovanovic. The Serbian striker was set to move to Merseyside on July 1st after his contract expired with Standard Liege, but after Rafa Benitez’s departure from the club, there is uncertainty over whether the move will go ahead, and the Blues are looking to capitalise on this. It is believed Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish wants to link Jovanovic up with new signing Nikola Zigic. 6ft 8 striker Zigic was signed from Valencia for £6m and agent Barry McIntosh believes the Serbian strike partners still could be at the same club next season:

“Birmingham wanted Jovanovic in January and I tried to make it happen but he wanted to run his contract down. Now a move to Birmingham is a possibility once more.”

i don’t think that Lfc’s stock has fallen so dramatically that a player would choose to go to birmingham before anfield, no disrespect to birmingham intended.

If were waiting for Puslow to finalise the transfer then maybe we might get him by 2022. Kenny needs to distance himself from him and the rest of the Board.
