Rumour Mill: Reds to slap £28m price tag on right back?

|

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool have slapped a £28million price tag on right back Glen Johnson. After a good display against the USA on Saturday, the Reds believe a good World Cup for the England star could see interest grow in the 25 year old. It is believed there is already a number of clubs interested in the marauding right back including Inter Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid. The newspaper states that Rafa Benitez would move for the Reds full back if Maicon made the switch from Inter to Real Madrid, while Real may also be interested in Johnson if their move for the Brazilian defender falls through. Barca may well be another runner in the race for the England international signature, according to the paper, because Dani Alves has reportedly rejected a new contract and is being linked with a move to Manchester City.

Why many club want to stole our player?????? Only new manager and owner can stop all this rumuors……

Its amazing really. Everyone writes us off yet we have the most desirable players on the planet. Torres, Gerrard, Mascherano, Yossi and Johnson are all linked with move away. That’s probably about 150m worth of talent. Just goes to show, a new manager coming in with those players, bit of tinkering, adding a few good players, dropping a few of the dross and Liverpool will be firing again!!!

This is ridiculous. Probably nothing else happening today so they come up with more unfounded rumours. If all those rumours linking our players with moves away we will not be able to field a starting eleven come August.

Johnson is a mediocre right back, however he can be fantastic going forward. As soon as either England or Liverpool realise that he isnt a right back, but instead a right midfielder/winger, his value will shoot through the roof – similar to whats happened to Gareth Bale since Redknapp moved him from left back to left winger.

Why is Liverpool selling players insted of owners selling Liverpool FC?

  • philip says:

It is ok..to sell him 28m is a reasonable price. I think Liverpool can kop without him. We need cash to bring more quality players in…

  • Zyufa says:

phillip, dont be s**t..to get a good player like him you need to spend 30mil..how can you easily said sell him and buy new world class player?..how many world class player can u get with 28mil..none i think..unless you gamble to buy player like degen n hopefully he will turns to be a world class player in future..dats what happen to rafa..when he got tight budget he needs to spend wisely,he has to gamble in transfer market..he actually love to buy a player like david villa but everyone knows he will cost us 45mil,n what happen by the time we sign him,he injured himself after dat?..

  • Zyufa says:

u guys just jump on the bandwagon n say the bad things about rafa, but if u guys wisely analyse it,it will different case for rafa then..we badly need squad’s depth every season rather than one top star player..dats what rafa tries to do tho..when he bought aqualani, its not alonso replacement but a back up for alonso..those two yanks who spoilt our team actually..they should go first rather than rafa tho..:(
