Rumour Mill: Sven WILL be considered for Reds role?

|

ESPN Soccernet is reporting that Sven-Goran Eriksson is still one of the leading candidates for the vacant managerial position at Liverpool. The former England boss had thrown his hat into the ring for the post, declaring he was a “lifelong” fan of the club, but it was thought that both Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalglish were ahead of him in the running. A leading football agent told Soccernet yesterday:

“My information is that his name has been mentioned now at board level at Liverpool. Roy Hodgson is the clear favourite, but in reality, although he has been portrayed as a readymade replacement for Benitez, Fulham finished in mid table, and I am not so sure about it.”

Eriksson is currently managing Ivory Coast at the World Cup and guided the African side to a drab 0-0 draw with Portugal yesterday. He will however, be available after the World Cup, and his experience of both the Premier League and international level has kept his name in the frame.

I’d rather not watch Liverpool for a few more years performing like England did under Sven, or like how the Ivory Coast did yesterday

If we’re not going to win the Premiership, let’s at least have some exciting, attacking football and youngster’s breaking through!

Hogdson is not not not good enough, does not have the pull for great players, plays one dimensional football.

    Bring In Kenny

  • Found this post via a related Google Search and it was rather insightful, Cheers!

Nothing wrong with Sven, if we could choose from all the great managers in the world, I would likely not go for him. But the reality is that we are going to have to settle with something far less than Mourinho, and in that category Sven isn’t that bad.

Nobody seemed to mind Rafas one-dimensional football.

Open your eyes. Have you been watching the world cup?

Success is far more important than pretty football.

Those days are gone. Roy Evans was the last.
